I love to smock on this Pique.
It pleats beautifully and the pleats hold their shape even in picture smocking. See smocked dress in gallery
It's 100% cotton but needs little to no ironing if removed from the dryer immediately.
It's a nice, crisp fabric for any type of sewing.
The Pique lines run parallel to the selvage.

Pique fabric was recommended by Gail Doane for making collars on smocked dresses. I could not find it in Ottawa, Canada. I am very pleased with the item.

I bought this for doll bedding but now that I see the texture and "scale" of the texture I think it would be perfect for a doll dress too. It arrived very quickly in pristine condition.
